KineMech - Planar Mechanism Analysis & Synthesis
A web-based interactive tool for mechanical engineers, students, and researchers to analyze and synthesize planar linkages.
Analysis: build four-bar, slider-crank, and pin-in-slot mechanisms from joints and links, then solve position, velocity, and acceleration with Coriolis terms. Kinetostatic force analysis covers joint reactions, driving torque and force, shaking force and moment, and free-body diagrams.
Synthesis: path generation, motion generation, and function generation for new four-bar linkages, with Grashof condition and transmission-angle checks built in. Also synthesizes quick-return slider-cranks and six-bar dwell mechanisms.
Cam design: plate cams with rise, dwell, and fall programs in eight motion laws, generating profiles for roller, knife-edge, and flat-face followers, with pressure angle and undercut checks.
